In May 2009 the annual Pinkpop festival celebrated its 40th edition. This anniversary year dwelled elaborately on the history of Pinkpop on location, on the web as well as on television. Images for the Future and the national research project MultimediaN have joined forces for the launch of an experimental video search engine on www.hollandsglorieoppinkpop.nl surrounding 40 years of Pinkpop.

With the help of Dutch technology this website enables browsing through video fragments of performances and interviews at Pinkpop. Automatic image and speech recognition take the user by the hand in an entirely new manner. In this way the website demonstrates how multimedia technology can help us find our way through the enormous amount of online video supply in the near future.
