Dutch Film Sector joins forces in eye Film Institute Netherlands

28 January 2010 On December 31, 2009, The Filmmuseum, Holland Film, the Netherlands Institute for Film Education (NIF), and the Filmbank pooled their resources to form a new organization. With this merger, the Dutch film world has gained a sector-wide umbrella institute that works to support national cinema culture.

National Archive participates in fotografen.nl

28 January 2010 At the beginning of January the website fotografen.nl was launched. The website was built on the artist database RKD-Artists and should develop into the most extensive database for photographers of the Netherlands.

Library of Zeeland new media pilot

22 January 2010 Within this pilot the library of Zeeland has given audiovisual material a place in the library. Film and video material from the Images for the Future collections and from the collections of local archives have been added to the website www.geschiedeniszeeland.nl.

22 January 2010 On December 16 2009 the Netherlands Public Library Association (VOB) organized the symposium ‘Heritage in the library through audiovisual media’ for the library sector and other interested parties from the world of heritage.

Pinkpop archives searchable

22 January 2010 In May 2009 the annual Pinkpop festival celebrated its 40th edition. This anniversary year dwelled elaborately on the history of Pinkpop on location, on the web as well as on television. Images for the Future and the national research project MultimediaN have joined forces for the launch of an experimental video search engine on www.hollandsglorieoppinkpop.nl surrounding 40 years of Pinkpop.
